Appointments & Locations

The US Embassy Trinidad and Tobago is located at 15 Queens Park West , Port of Spain. The Consular waiting room is located on Marli Street.

Visa information is available on the Information and Appointment Website and by calling the Visa Call Center at (868)-235-4500 during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

PAYMENT METHODS (CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED)

Payment is made at the Consular Cashier at the U.S. Embassy via the two methods listed below only.

  • Cash (US and local currency)
  • Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Diner’s Club & American Express)

The exchange rate is approximately the Rate used by banks in Trinidad and Tobago. Please click here for the approximate rate.

Note: The Consular Cashier is unable to accept worn or damaged currency bills. 

Security Information

The U.S. Embassy Trinidad and Tobago is located at 15 Queens Park West , Port of Spain. The Consular waiting room is located on Marli Street.

Bags, including purses, wallets, backpacks, briefcases, diaper bags and luggage are prohibited.

Applicants are reminded that liquids ( except baby formula), weapons, cellular phones and all other electronic devices are not allowed into the waiting area, these items should be secured elsewhere prior to your appointment.

Place your application documents , identification and payments in a clear plastic folder.

The Consular Waiting room is air-conditioned, therefore persons who are easily chilled should walk with a sweater.

Applicants will be allowed into the waiting room no more than 15 minutes prior to their appointment, if you arrive before this time you will be asked to return closer to your appointment time. Typically, children under 14 are not required to appear on the day of the interview.

Family members or caregivers who wish to accompany an applicant on the day of their interview are required to seek advance permission to enter the Consular Waiting Room. To submit this request, please email consularpos@state.gov at least 2 working days before the confirmed appointment.

Provide the full name of the applicant, the caregiver, the appointment date and time along with a short explanation of why the applicant needs to be accompanied.

Reasonable Accomodation

If you need reasonable accommodation for your appointment, we encourage you to request your accommodation immediately once you schedule your appointment. We make every effort to provide accommodations to persons with disabilities and medical conditions. Reasonable accommodations vary, depending on the situation and the person’s needs.
Examples of accommodations include, but are not limited to:

    • If you require a private appointment due to a medical condition or disability, we may schedule an alternative time for you to come in for your interview.
    • If you or your child has special needs that requires a private appointment in a quiet space without distractions, we may schedule an alternative time for you or your family to come in for your interview.
    • If you are unable to speak, you may be allowed to respond to questions in an agreed-upon nonverbal manner such as using pen and paper.
    • If you are deaf or hard of hearing, you may bring a sign language interpreter to translate during the interview if needed.
    • If you have low vision, we may provide you with communications in large print.

If you are unable to provide fingerprints because of a medical condition, including birth defects, physical deformities, skin conditions, you may qualify for a fingerprint waiver for certain fingers.

  • Interview waivers are only granted in extreme situations, such as having a medical condition that requires flying in an air ambulance.
