Starting February 1, 2019, persons applying for Immigrant Visas (Green Card) at the U.S. Embassy Port of Spain will be required to present the new polymer, computer-generated vital statistics certificates issued by the Registrar General. These include Trinidad and Tobago birth certificates, marriage certificates, and death certificates. All previous versions of these civil documents will no longer be accepted. The civil documents are required to prove the relationships between the persons involved in the application. Please ensure that you have your updated documents prior to your scheduled immigrant visa interview in order to avoid any delays in visa processing.
Except for children under the age of 14, civil documents such as birth certificates are not generally needed for most Non-Immigrant (visitor) Visas.
