September 16, 2021

September 15, 2021:  To emphasize the United States’ commitment to regional and government partnerships and climate change, and to introduce the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) 2020-2025 regional development strategy, USAID Regional Representative Clinton White will visit Trinidad and Tobago September 16-23 to meet with government officials, leaders in the business community, and members of civil society organizations.

Mr. White’s meetings will underscore that the American people, through USAID, are partnering with the people of the Caribbean to move forward their education, health, economic development, and prosperity aspirations.  He will also highlight USAID’s regional development strategy – developed to guide USAID’s progrACams –which will provide critical assistance to the region.  The strategy’s focus is to support a safe, prosperous, and resilient Caribbean region that assists its vulnerable populations, withstands external shocks, and promotes accountable institutions, economic development, and private sector-led growth.

USAID will celebrate its 60th anniversary on November 3, 2021.  Over the years, USAID has exemplified the best of American values abroad, while advancing the safety and prosperity of Americans at home.  In every area – from disaster response to entrepreneurship – USAID has made progress towards a world where every man, woman, and child can live with dignity and reach their full potential.
