U.S. Embassy in San Fernando – June 9

The U.S. Embassy will move to San Fernando for one day on June 9 as we seek new opportunities to engage with the community.  Our offices will be based at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA), Todd Street, San Fernando from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

An initiative of Chargé d’Affaires John W. McIntyre in collaboration with San Fernando Mayor Junia Regrello and the City Corporation, the day will start with the raising of the U.S. Flag, symbolizing our presence, followed by an opening ceremony and press availability in the foyer.

“This is historic because it’s the first time the Embassy will literally be working outside our Port of Spain offices.  This is an opportunity to share information about what we do.  We will offer some American Citizen Services, including the renewal of U.S. passports.  While we won’t be issuing visas, we will be talking about studying in the U.S. and the visa application process,” explained Chargé McIntyre.

An information session on studying in the U.S. will be held in the Sundar Popo auditorium at 09:00 a.m.   Information on the small grants program will be provided to NGO representatives at 1:00 p.m. in the foyer.  Details on the schedule for American Citizen Services will be sent to those who have enrolled to receive Embassy messages to citizens and will be available here on our website and Facebook page.
