Security Alert – Developing Situation in Israel

Event: The situation in Israel continues to be unpredictable. Out of an abundance of caution, U.S. citizens in Trinidad and Tobago are reminded to remain vigilant and take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness due to the situation in Israel in combination with the threat environment in Trinidad and Tobago.
At any time, extremist groups or individuals may become inspired by worldwide events. Extremists may use conventional or non-conventional weapons and target both official and private interests. Examples of such targets include government facilities, high-profile sporting events, residential areas, business offices, hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, schools, public areas, shopping malls, and other tourist destinations where people gather in large numbers.
Actions to take:
- Stay alert.
- Exercise heightened caution.
- Immediately report incidents of crime, terrorism, or any suspicious activity to local authorities.
- Have a plan. In the event of a criminal or terrorist event, know what action you might take which could include moving to a safe area away from the incident, noting all exits, or if not possible, seeking immediate shelter.
