Launch of the “Gang Reduction and Community Empowerment” Program
On May 11, Chargé d’Affaires Shante Moore delivered remarks at the launch of the “Gang Reduction and Community Empowerment” program, which provides USD$1.5 million in technical assistance to improve law enforcement capabilities of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), and to address gang-related security challenges. The 18-month program is funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Intl Narcotics & Law Enforcement (INL) through the U.S. Embassy Port of Spain. It will be implemented by the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF).
