Launch of Embassy Speakers Program

Students of Bishops Centenary College

The Embassy kicked off its Speakers Program on International Women’s Day with  Foreign Service Officer Leshawna Johnson visiting students at Bishop’s Centenary College, Port of Spain for an interactive talk about empowerment.

The Embassy’s Speakers Program is a new initiative for Embassy officers and staff to interact with local audiences, including students, professional associations, businesses, NGOs, government agencies, social organizations, and other groups.  Our speakers can cover a variety of topics including U.S. culture and history, their own personal and professional experiences, careers in diplomacy and international development, commercial and economic issues, personal security, women in law enforcement and government, or any other subject of interest to a local audience.  If you would like to inquire about having an Embassy speaker address your group, please let us know at ptspas@state.gov
