5 MINUTE READ
July 14, 2020

Location:  Port of Spain

Event: The U.S. Embassy Port of Spain has been advised of a flight with the commercial carrier JetBlue from Port of Spain to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City on Friday, July 17, for the purpose of repatriating U.S. citizens.  We urge U.S. citizens (and U.S. Legal Permanent Residents) wishing to travel to the United States to contact the airline directly to book a seat on their website www.jetblue.com

The flight is expected to depart from Port of Spain at 1 p.m.

The U.S. Embassy cannot book tickets or hotel reservations on behalf of a passenger. Baggage and pet arrangements must be coordinated directly with the airline when purchasing tickets. Onward travel options from New York City should be made as soon as possible with available commercial airlines operating out of JFK airport and is the responsibility of the passenger.

The U.S. Embassy does not know when regularly scheduled commercial flights to the United States will resume. At this time there are no other flights being scheduled to the United States or elsewhere. U.S. citizens who choose not to take this flight should be prepared to remain in Trinidad and Tobago until commercial air travel resumes.

Travelers are reminded that you must have valid travel documents to board this flight. Please check that you have a valid U.S. passport or valid foreign passport and U.S. Legal Permanent Resident card (green card). If you need assistance with emergency documentation, please contact the embassy immediately at ACSPOS@state.gov or call 622-6371.

Note that if you are experiencing any symptoms such as fever, coughing, sneezing or shortness of breath, you will not be allowed to board the flight. Please do not come to the airport if you have any of these symptoms.

Please do *not* contact the U.S. Embassy to make a flight reservation.

Please continue to monitor the U.S. Embassy website and U.S. Embassy Port of Spain COVID-19 Information page for updated information.
