Overview

The American Center is an American Space which serves as the Embassy’s primary space for engaging with the people of Trinidad and Tobago.  The American Center’s overall mission is to build relationships, foster collaboration and promote mutual understanding between the U.S. and Trinidad and Tobago. American Spaces reflect the qualities of openness and accessibility that are associated with American ideals. They are well positioned to deliver compelling programming designed to attract and engage specific audiences in conversations and activities tied to broad U.S. foreign policy interests as well as to country-specific objectives.

The American Center offers a range of regular programs that are open to the public.  The core program themes are 1. Entrepreneurship, 2. Studying in the U.S., 3. Technology & Innovation and 4. Film-making and the Arts. It also houses a collection of books on U.S. Foreign Policy, U.S. History, Political Science, African American History, Literature, General Business and other Social Science and Humanities fields. It is also well equipped with laptops and internet access.

Walk-in hours:
1:00-3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
