The U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL), through the U.S. Embassy Port of Spain on July 11, donated 12 electric bicycles (eBikes) and one solar-powered electric bicycle charging station valued at US$61,200 to the TTPS Tourism Oriented Police (TOPS). The American Chamber of Commerce, Trinidad and Tobago also donated a second charging station, valued at US$9,000. These eBikes will assist TOPS to patrol larger tourist destination areas more frequently and improve their incident response times. Recently, INL supported the Tobago Police Division in white collar crime investigations, including providing forensic accounting training and a money counter.
