April 16, 2021: Applications are now open for the 2021 National Youth Science Camp (NYSCamp), which will be held virtually.

Three high school students or recent graduates aged 16-18 years will be selected from this year’s eligible school districts – North East District, St. George East District, Port of Spain District, and Caroni District. The successful students will receive a full scholarship to exchange ideas with scientists and other professionals from academic, government, and corporate worlds.  The nearly month-long virtual experience includes lectures and hands-on research projects presented by prestigious and up-and-coming STEM professionals who are making a difference in their fields of study and changing the world for the better.  The selected delegates must not only demonstrate academic achievement in science, but also show potential for thoughtful scientific leadership.

The NYSCamp experience is offered at no cost to its participants. Many alumni of the NYSCamp describe their experience as life-changing and giving them the confidence to achieve more than they thought possible.

The camp will be held virtually from June 28 through July 21, 2021. Applicants must have strong skills in spoken English. Additionally, although camp activities will be offered throughout the day during camp, selected delegates must commit to a minimum 4.5 hour daily virtual participation between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) for the duration of the camp.

Applications must be submitted by 17 May, 2021

Deadline extended to May 23.
